Males forewings have an apical black area which is sharply defined and does not reach below vein 2, extending to the cell and to half or two-thirds of cellule 3. The submarginal spots are indistinctly marked. The hindwings have a broad blackish marginal border, its inner edge usually nebulous. There is also a series of white submarginal spots, which are not well defined.
Females are yellowish- to creamy-white, the forewings with a brownish-black costa and apical half extending into the cell and to below vein 2. The hindwings have a rather broad brownish-black sharply defined marginal border with the spots of the underside slightly showing through.
