Select a Country or Countries
The visibility of species on the website depends on the selected continents and the countries you are interested in.
If you cannot find the country you are looking for on this page, please check if the correct continent or continents have been selected in the website settings.
You can choose a country (or countries) using one of three modes:
- Single Country Selection
- Multiple Country Selection
- Continent(s)
Single Country Selection
Default option. Select a specific country by clicking on the map or its name in the table below the map.
Clicking another country automatically deselects the previous one, meaning
only one country is active at a time.
For very small countries like Andorra or Monaco, selecting them on the map can be difficult.
In such cases, it is more convenient to use the country list table displayed below the map.
If you have selected multiple continents in the website settings and the country list is very long, the country filter located on the right side above the table is also very useful.
Multiple Country Selection
This option is similar to (1), but it allows you to select
multiple countries simultaneously.
You can make your selection by clicking on countries on the map or their names in the table below the map.
Clicking an additional country adds it to the list, and clicking a previously selected country again deselects it.
There is no limit to the number of countries you can select.
When you select up to five countries, their codes will be visible in the top menu next to the website's logo.
If you select more than five countries, due to limited space in the menu, the name CUSTOM and the number of selected countries will be displayed instead of the country codes.
Continent(s)
Selecting this option activates all countries from the continent or continents previously chosen in the website settings.
Clicking any country on the map or in the table below the map will automatically change the selection mode to „Single Country Selection”.
Maps: Cyprus, Turkey, Russia, Mexico
The Geochart framework is used to display countries and regions, and it assigns each country to one continent.
For example, Cyprus and Turkey are assigned to Asia, Russia to Europe, and Mexico to Central America.
Because of this framework, it's not possible to show countries assigned by Google to a different continent on a continent map - for example, Turkey on a map of Europe or Russia on a map of Asia.
To solve this issue, the country list table below the map always includes all countries from the selected continents, allowing you to select them even if they aren't visible on the map.
